It’s all in HIS Hand

Filed under: Uncategorized — Little Mommy @ 6:03 pm

Today we went in for our weekly visit to the specialist, due to my previous miscarriages and pregnancy issues. Given all of the naseua I’ve had this week, and all of the extra sleep, I had a really good feeling – even hoping that he would release me to a regular OB.

So, pretty much, my worries were mostly behind me, and I was finally starting to let myself get really excited. I hope this doesn’t sound bad, I really am thrilled with this baby! I can’t explain it, but something about losing babies makes you a little afraid to believe it’s real – just in case.

I don’t understand this, because either way, you love this baby with all of your heart, and if God does so choose to take it, the loss you feel is just as real as losing someone you see and touch.

The screen we get to watch on quickly showed the sack, and there was our baby! You could see the little heartbeat (if you looked hard). :)

My hard part came when the measurements came in at 6 weeks, 3 days. I was 6 weeks last Wed., so it should be 7 weeks today. They didn’t seem concerned, at least from what they showed us, but do want us to continue coming back weekly for a few more weeks now (which does have me a little more concerned).

I know this baby’s life is in God’s Hand, and as before when faced with these fears, there is nothing I can do but pray that God’s will is done. Please join us in praying that God’s will is done, and if that is for this baby to join us – we are excited and really…….. want this!!!

They did say that these can be off 3 days. I’m just ready to be past 6 weeks, 5 days, which is when we saw the heartbeat for the first little one we lost. I miscarried at 6 weeks, 7 days that time – and thought I past that point the other day.

The vitals – the baby measured 6 mm, up from 2 mm last week. Based on 7 weeks, this should be 12 mm. The heartrate was 119, which they said was good.

I will actually be going back in earlier in the week next week, since I can’t get in Tues. or Wed.. LOTS of praying in the next 5 days!

Zzzzzzzz……….

Filed under: Uncategorized — Little Mommy @ 7:09 pm

That about sums it up for me the past couple of weeks! I don’t remember being this tired during the other pregnancies, but I’m not sure that I’m going to complain because I love to take a nap. :P

DH was great this past weekend. He let me sleep until 9:40, and then take a nap from 11:40 to 2:40. Believe it or not, I was actually tired that night around 8:30. I hope I’m not catching up now for all of the sleep I’m going to miss come September…

I’m nearing the end of Week 6, and basically I’m a newborn baby – eat, go potty, sleep, eat, go potty sleep. And I’m really having a hard time getting myself to drink enough water – then I’d be going potty even more!

DD is still really excited. She asks me often if the baby is doing good, and to be sure to tell her when my tummy hurts. She has a little secret that she’s keeping from me, but her Daddy is going to help her write one word on a card when my tummy starts hurting (that is, when the baby is coming).

I love the way she lays next to me as I’m waking up from a nap – she covers my shoulders up with the blanket, at times she’ll lean over and kiss my cheek, and if (I mean, when) I open my eyes, she’s right there grinning ear to ear at me. It’s precious!

I’m finding that clothes are already fitting a little tighter and having to be loosened up. This is due to the fact that everytime I feel a little queasy, I eat. I might actually gain more than my normal 32-34 lbs. during this pregnancy.

After mid-week when I hit 7 weeks I’ll feel much better, as I’m still somewhat holding my breath since the two miscarriages I’ve had were both before the end of 6 weeks. Given how tired I am, my sense of smell working against me, and my rediscovered love of saltine crackers… I’d say things are going great.

As I close, I must share a song I just shared on another blog, “All People That on Earth Do Dwell”, also known as “Doxology”. We acknowledge that God has blessed us with this baby, it’s nothing of our own doing.

We decided many, many years ago that we felt God wanted us to trust HIM with our family size - whether He gave us children or not. What a blessing it has been to trust Him in this, and receive the 4 children He has given us. It has also been a blessing to trust Him as He decided to take 2 of our babies to Heaven before we met them.

It’s unexplainable, but there’s such a peace in knowing that nothing will come our way that isn’t the Lord’s will for our lives. And what a blessing to know that very soon we will have yet another little one to love on and raise for the Lord, His kingdom, and His glory!

February 3, 2011 (6 Weeks, 1 Day)

Filed under: Uncategorized — Little Mommy @ 7:09 pm

Today was the first day for the kiddos to wake up since our telling them about the new baby. DS1 comes in my room, “Mommy, MOMMY (in a hushed, but loud whisper), how’s the baby this morning?”.

DS2 already snuggled up next to me in the bed follows up by asking, “How are you and the baby, Mommy?” How sweet! :)

DD was quickly in the bed with us, and matter of factly told her brothers, “X and Y, you have to be quiet, because I think God has given the baby ears now and you will wake it up, so you need to be quiet!” LOL!

Oh, how I love these precious times with my children. And, oh yeah, DD is convinced that God has made this baby a girl – she just knows it!

Post Partum Health

Filed under: Uncategorized — Little Mommy @ 10:02 pm

I hate to say it, but this is the first time I’ve really been hit hard with post partum horomones – HARD! Of course, I’m a little more stressed this go round with 4 little ones in my care now. :)

We’ve had a week though – starting out with DH going back to work. That went pretty well actually! Tuesday we had visitors, only to find out the next day that my grandmother had pneumonia! She didn’t come the day before, but my grandfather did. I was sick that I hadn’t asked him about her sickness, or even to wash his hands before holding the baby. But then, I had no idea she was that sick either.

So, shame on me for not asking first if everyone was healthy before they visited/ brought food. I wrongly assumed they wouldn’t expose us to anything. I guess being older they didn’t think about it – all the more reason for me to ask questions!

Thankfully, we later found out that she had walking pneumonia, which isn’t nearly as contagious – if at all. I’m pretty sure it can’t be carried by others – like my grandfather. Okay, that was one major stressor this week.

Wed. we headed out for pics at Target (previously mentioned). Up at 7:45, out the door around 1:45 – all for pictures at 5. LOL. We did get some really great shots this time though – yeah!!

DH was off Tuesday and Thursday, back to work on Friday. Middle son (20 months) and DD (3.5) have really had a tough time with dad going back to work. They generally have cried each morning missing him, esp. DS. This is hard on me – dealing with not one, but two crying children so early in the morning.

Okay, now to today. We’ve been trying for AGES to get in contact with the contractor clearing our land. Finally I called them from our cell phone (they didn’t know that number) and got them to answer! We met today, only to find out that he’s swindled us big time.

We’d paid him upfront for the septic tank and some gas money. He took that money and bought Christmas gifts and paid bills with it – not one cent for a septic tank. Today, he’s asking for the rest of the money. Now, we agreed on a set price, which included 12 hours of labor. He put in 24 and wants us to pay him for that time.

Mind you, he still hasn’t bought or installed the septic tank yet – but has spent a LOT of our money on personal uses. He wasn’t budging today, even when we mentioned having to contact the authorities regarding it – he told us to go ahead. :(

We are SICK!! Do we get the sheriff to visit him and hopefully get our money back (minus $130 fees), or let him keep the $650 he’s stolen outright above our agreed price? He was offering to give us part of it back, but keeping this $650 that he ‘might have’ worked, but we didn’t agree to pay him for. UGHHH!!!

This is so not a good time to have to deal with this. Now DH is questioning even keeping the land at all now. This is somewhat okay with me, but part of me has wanted land in the country so bad! We have it mostly cleared now, and the drive is shaped.

All that’s left is a little extra clearing/ drainage, gravel, and the septic tank. I just don’t know, and we’re so  confused. It didn’t help that the baby screamed and screamed part of the way there and back (1 hour each way). Aren’t babies supposed to LIKE riding in cars? This one does NOT!

Okay, it’s late, I’m tired, I’m horomonal. Sickness is all around, though thankfully we’re all well! Oh yeah, the guy today was sick and didn’t bother telling us! Then he had the nerve to start smoking in front of our children!

DH asked him to please not do that in front of them, to which he smarted off that the wind was blowing the other way. DH did great – I was proud! He asked him again, not only for the breathing issue, but because he didn’t want our children seeing him smoking. I was so mad at him already that I really didn’t think of it this way, so really was proud that DH cared that much about our children even being exposed to it visually!

I’m hoping some sleep will help, and the rest will smooth itself out. I’m a little tired of being SO tired, especially mentally. I just don’t feel like I’m able to accomplish anything good anymore – or anytime soon. I want to be mommy, but I also enjoy my blogs/ business. I know which one comes first, but it’s so hard some times – anyone else need an ‘out’?

Sorry for a slightly depressing post, but this IS where I’m at right now. I can’t imagine women who suffer from PPD – feeling even worse than I have today! This is a real thing, but not one that I’m open to taking meds for (at least not where I’m at now). I believe once things get a little more normal and figured out it will be easier. Right now I just have so many roles (mom, wife, teacher, cook, washer woman - ha), I have to make them all work.

Don’t forget to think about the whole swine flu scare – which isn’t anywhere near as deadly as the flu itself each year. Yeah, I’m thinking it’s been a deliberate thing to make money – sad, but true in my opinion. Either way, it’s made me rethink taking our children out at all right now – just because there are so many people sick that DON’T stay home. The pneumonia scare this week really hit home – how horrible it would’ve been if the baby had caught that!

Signing off -

My apologies

Filed under: Uncategorized — Little Mommy @ 7:42 am

I ended up going to bed last night before all of the comments on last night’s post came through. For those of you that read these before I had a chance to edit the wording a little, I apologize for any offense that could have been found in them.

It turns out this is a bigger topic than I realized! If I happened to edit YOUR comment, please know I tried to leave as much of your comment as possible, removing only language that I felt was much too personal. This IS a blog for my baby and myself primarily, and also a place where my family, friends, and fellow Christians come to keep up with us – not such private matters.

That said, this is an important topic that we are beginning to feel many experience simply because we think we are ‘supposed’ to do it – the circumcision that is. My only hesitation against not doing it at this point is if some medical condition down the road requires our son to have it done later, when it might be more painful.
